Annotate, blur and crop

A screenshot editor lives inside the extension, so the capture never has to leave the browser to get an arrow, a label or a blur. Is the editor free?

Are annotations pixels or objects?
Objects. Every arrow, box, text and blur is a layer you can select, move, restyle, reorder and delete later, and the picture underneath is untouched until you export. Zooming in keeps them crisp.
Is a blur really unrecoverable?
The redaction is applied to the pixels on export, and the exported file contains only the result, not the original underneath. Pixelation and the solid plate are the safest choices for text; a light Gaussian blur on large text can sometimes be guessed at, as with any tool, so use a strong blur or the plate for anything that matters.
Can I crop to an exact size?
Yes. The crop tool takes width and height in pixels, so a 1200 by 630 social image or a 1280-pixel-wide documentation shot comes out exactly that size instead of by eye.
Can I edit a capture again later?
Yes. Every capture stays in Files, in the browser, and opens in the editor again with its annotations as objects, so you can change a label or move an arrow without starting over.
Can I annotate an image that is not a capture?
The editor works on captures made by the extension, including captures of PDF files opened in Chrome. It does not open arbitrary image files from disk.
