How to take a full page screenshot in Chrome

Why not the built-in way? Chrome can take a full-size screenshot from DevTools (Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+P, “Capture full size screenshot”), and Edge has Web Capture. Both stop at what the page itself scrolls: a Gmail thread, a Notion page or a dashboard that scrolls inside a panel comes out cut off, sticky headers repeat, and there is no editor, no PDF with page breaks and no history.

Is it really free? What's the catch?
Capturing a whole page is free, with no watermark and no usage limits, and so is saving, copying and printing it. Smart PDF page breaks, a paid feature elsewhere, are free here too. The editor is free to use; saving a screenshot you have drawn on, blurred or cropped is part of Pro.
How do I take a full page screenshot in Chrome without an extension?
Open DevTools (F12), press Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+P, type "full size" and choose Capture full size screenshot. It works for a simple article, but it photographs only what the page itself scrolls: a Gmail thread, a Notion page or a dashboard that scrolls inside a panel comes out cut off, sticky headers can repeat, lazy-loaded images may be missing, and there is no editor and no PDF. Do my screenshots leave the browser?
Never. The extension makes zero network requests. Screenshots are stored in your browser's local database and stay on your device.
Does it work on pages behind a login?
Yes. Capture happens inside your own browser tab, so anything you can see, web apps, dashboards, intranet pages, can be captured.
Can I screenshot Gmail, Notion or a dashboard that scrolls inside a panel?
Yes. Many web apps scroll an inner container rather than the page. FullPage Capture finds the real scroller, captures the whole window once, sidebars and header included, and then unrolls only the inner panel, so the result looks like the app, just complete. Apps that scroll inside a panel
Can I save a whole web page as a PDF with clickable links?
Yes. Export the capture as one long PDF page, or as US Letter, Legal or A4 with smart page breaks that never cut through a line of text. Links from the page stay clickable in the PDF, and you can stamp the address and capture date on it.
Why don't sticky headers repeat in the screenshot?
A fixed header or cookie bar is photographed once, at the top, and hidden while the rest of the page scrolls past. Tools that simply glue screens together show it on every frame.
What about very long pages?
A screenshot stays one image until it exceeds Chrome's canvas limits (28,800 px per side). Beyond that it is split into numbered parts, and the editor can still assemble them back into one canvas.
Can I capture a PDF opened in Chrome?
Yes. A PDF opened in Chrome's viewer is captured whole, every page fit to the width of the tab, in one image. The extension renders the file itself, so nothing is scrolled and nothing is sent anywhere. A password-protected file cannot be captured.
Is there a keyboard shortcut?
Alt+Shift+K starts a capture of the current tab. Change it at chrome://extensions/shortcuts (edge://extensions/shortcuts in Edge).
Which browsers are supported?
Chrome and Microsoft Edge have their own store listings, with the same features in both. Brave, Opera, Vivaldi and other Chromium browsers install the Chrome build. There is no Firefox or Safari version. Get it from Edge Add-ons
