Taking a screenshot
- Click the FullPage Capture icon in the toolbar, or press Alt+Shift+K.
- The page scrolls and captures itself. The popup shows progress and a frame counter.
- A result tab opens next to the original one. From there: Edit, PNG, PDF or Delete.
Pause and resume: closing the popup pauses the capture. Click the icon again to resume exactly where it stopped. Stop capture cancels and restores the page.
Very long pages
A screenshot stays a single image until it exceeds Chrome's canvas limits (28,800 px per side or ~259 million pixels of area). Larger captures are split into numbered parts (-1, -2, …). The popup warns you in advance, each part can be downloaded or edited separately, and the editor can assemble the parts back into one canvas whenever the whole image still fits Chrome's limits.
Apps that scroll inside a panel
Gmail, Notion, Trello and similar apps scroll an inner container rather than the page itself. FullPage Capture finds the real scroller automatically: the first frame captures the whole window (sidebars and header included), then only the inner panel is unrolled.
If a page doesn't scroll but contains a dominant embedded frame (a document viewer, for example), the popup offers to capture the frame. This needs two optional permissions — access to all sites and navigation tracking — requested only at that moment, and used only to reach inside the frame.

Exporting
- PNG — lossless, exactly what was on screen.
- JPEG — smaller files for sharing.
- PDF — one tall page, or A4 / Letter with smart page breaks that avoid cutting through text lines. Links from the page stay clickable. Optionally stamp the URL and capture date on top.
- Clipboard — copies the image; captures over 25 megapixels are scaled to fit Google Docs paste limits (can be turned off in options).
Options
- Save as dialog — ask where to save each single file.
- Auto-download — skip the result tab and download immediately; the capture is still kept in Files.
- Image format — PNG or JPG for downloads.
- Scroll delay — give slow pages extra time to render each frame.
- Downloads subfolder — keep captures in their own folder.
- PDF paper — one long page, A4 or Letter, plus the URL + date stamp.
Files — your capture history
Every capture is kept locally in Files (right-click the extension icon → Files, or the folder button in the result view). Search, preview, re-edit, and select multiple captures for bulk download or deletion. Everything stays in the browser's local storage.
Troubleshooting
The icon does nothing on a page
Browser pages (settings, the Web Store, new tab) are protected by Chrome — no extension can capture them. Any regular website works.
Local files (file://)
Open chrome://extensions, find FullPage Capture → Details → enable Allow access to file URLs.
A sticky element repeats or a section looks frozen
The capture engine neutralizes sticky headers, parallax and animations on popular platforms, but exotic themes exist. Increase the scroll delay in options and try again — and report the page to maggiore55ferrari@gmail.com so a rule can be added for it.
